Plain-language summary: DawnPal runs fully on your device. We use your location and notifications to schedule sunrise alarms, and you can optionally choose a background photo. We do not sell your data or run ads. Purchases are handled by Apple and our purchase provider.
What DawnPal Uses on Your Device
- Location (When In Use): Used to calculate sunrise times for your current location.
- Notifications: Used to wake you and send bedtime reminders.
- Photo Library (optional): Used only if you choose a custom background image.
- Local Preferences: Stored on-device (settings, alarm choices, onboarding state).
What We Collect
- Purchase info: If you subscribe or buy a lifetime upgrade, Apple and our purchase provider (RevenueCat) process the transaction. We receive entitlement status to unlock Pro features.
- Support messages: If you contact us, we’ll receive the info you submit (email and message content).
We do not run ads, and we do not collect analytics or tracking data.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share your data with advertisers or analytics networks.
- We do not upload your photos or location history.
How Your Data Is Processed
Core app features work offline. Location is used to compute sunrise/sunset times and is stored only on your device to keep the app working when offline. Background images you choose are stored locally on your device.
Third-Party Services
- Apple App Store: Processes purchases and manages subscriptions.
- RevenueCat: Helps us manage purchase entitlements (Pro access).
- Google Forms: Used only if you submit a support or feature request form.
Your Choices
- You can revoke location or photo access anytime in iOS Settings.
- You can disable notifications in iOS Settings.
- You can remove local data by uninstalling the app.

DawnPal does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
